Semi-automatic indexing to generate MARC-21 Records
C-3 Plus is an application for semiautomatic title-indexing of periodicals like journals and serials. Input are scanned Table of Contents (TOC) as TIFF/MTIFF/PDF. Output is app. 200-250 articles/h. This is more than 10 times faster than manual indexing. Data is supplied as MARC21.XML or native C-3.XML Records for individual post processing.
C-3 Plus extracts semiautomatic title, author and page number from articles. It supports multiptle languages and even diacritica. By extracting title-/metadata from union catalogues and merging them with the extracted article data then comprehensive MARC21 records will be produced.
C-3 Plus supports a free-form and a rule-based approach to indexing and offers partially automated workflows. It supports lots of convenience functions, such as:

By connecting a scanner semiautomatic indexing can start immediatly. Existing digitised material can be imported easily in the workflow. Library system as ALEPH/ALMA, OCLC/PICA are connected by SRU and/or RestfulAPI.
