ScanRobot® book scanner
As of August 2008, ImageWare Components has the exclusive right to marketing the ScanRobot®, the CeBIT award-winning fully-automatic book scanner from Treventus. With the entry into robot technology, the product-portfolio of the Bookeye® book scanner will be expanded by the most innovative solution in the field of automatic scanning technology.
ScanRobot® distinguishes itself with a number of advantages:
- economic functioning by the use of a double-prism (parallel digitisation of the right-hand and left-hand pages of the book)
- gentle book handling due to a 60° opening angle
- distortion-free scanning up to the book fold
- automatic book cradle alignment
- no light stress
At the same time, the ScanRobot® fulfils conservation obligations, which were required for example in a project of the Bavarian State Library. Here for the first time in the world, books from the 16th century were scanned without being touched. Thitherto these book digitisations were limited to documents as from the 19th century.
