The transition from microfilm to digital archive at Schwäbisch Hall Facility Management GmbH
Schwäbisch Hall
- 2007: Files and contracts were stored on jackets/roll films
- When incoming queries are made, data is scanned with the BCS-2® scanning and capturing software from fiches/roll films
- BCS-2® provides the data to the web-based document delivery system MyBib eDoc®
- MyBib eDoc® delivers the data to the case handler (which considerably simplifies back copy creation)
- The scanned data are additionally archived in a FilNet document management system (DMS)
- Long-term aim: integration of the complete jacket archive in the DMS
