Film and Television Academy Babelsberg
The newspaper cuttings archive of the HFF library is a special case. The collection has about 1.6 million articles from the German language press about film, television and new media. The specialised sections on "DEFA-Film" and "East-European Film" are particularly important. This specialised section alone with its 100 000 articles (collected since 1946) makes the archive unique in its importance today. Extensive tests were carried out with various scanners to handle the condition, format, size and other characteristics. The Bookeye scanner was finally selected.
