ImageWare Components and the Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems (IAIS) working together
ImageWare Components and the Fraunhofer Institute in St. Augustin team up in a development project
Bonn-based ImageWare Components GmbH and the Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems (IAIS) in St. Augustin have been working together since the beginning of the year.
This long-term cooperation will enable ImageWare to channel the IAIS's substantial experience in the field of digitisation processes into the development of its Bookeye® book scanner.
The first results are expected by mid-2009. They will be integrated in the BCS-2 scanning software® to optimise book fold correction, deskew and the removal of the finger from the image.
Within the scope of this joint project, ImageWare and the IAIS plan to organise training events on standardising digitisation processes for business and research users. The event which is scheduled for autumn 2009 will be covered in a separate press release.
Following their first joint presentation at this year's CeBIT fair, ImageWare and the IAIS will be presenting their developments at the German Librarians Day in Erfurt and the Frankfurt Book Fair.
