EMMAdigital puts 25.348 pages of the EMMA magazine on the internet. As of this year every single EMMA issue since 1977 is available free of charge but copyright protected in the EMMA-reading room. According to the publishers this decision was politically motivated. The poor quality of print and paper are causing the deterioration of the theatre magazines Bambalinas published between 1918 and 1934 in Argentina. With the digitization of all 762 magazines and 12 Suplemento Bambalinas the Ibero-American Institute (IAI) is saving them from complete loss. Distinctive examples for the numerous capabilities of the electronic reading room MyBib eRoom which was developed by Fraunhofer IAIS and ImageWare and was presented for the first time this year at Frankfurter book fair.
